Houston City Council Passes LGBT-Inclusive Nondiscrimination Ordinance in 11-6 Vote

Despite the efforts of anti-gay hate merchants and Bible thumping pastors - including black pastors too stupid to see that they are being manipulated by former segregationists - the Houston Chronicle is reporting that Houston's City Council enacted a sweeping non-discrimination ordinance that will protect LGBT Houstonians.  As noted before, Texas' extreme anti-gay laws is making it for progressive cities, universities and businesses to attract the best and the brightest employees.  Houston's new ordinance is but one effort to counter the toxic Texas laws that reduce the state's competitiveness.

Both Virginia's and Texas' cities are being harmed by the backwardness and bigotry being maintained by the states' respective Republican Parties.   Fortunately, with each passing election cycle the day comes closer of when the cities' populations will be able to out vote the knuckle dragging, spittle flecked voters in the rural areas.  That day cannot come soon enough.
